»Elegance« honored for excellent design quality

Award:  »Elegance« 26200 microphone stand honored for excellent design quality with the red dot award: product design 2013!

The red dot design award numbers among the most renowned international design contests and is well established as one of the most coveted quality seals for exceptional design worldwide. Products honored with the award go on exhibit for at least a year in the North-Rhine Westphalia Design Centre’s red dot museum.

In keeping with the “In search of excellence” motto, the 2013 red dot award: product design jury has again identified the best products and projects of the year. The innovative power of music accessory manufacturer König & Meyer impressed the 37-person expert jury. 1,865 manufacturers, designers and architects from 54 countries entered a total of 4,662 products and projects in this year’s contest. The jury was tasked with selecting the best designs of 2013 in 19 different categories. Only the very best products are honored with the coveted award for aesthetic shapes and sustainable trends, among them »Elegance« microphone stand which received the red dot for its successful and sophisticated design.

One of the »Elegance« microphone stand’s most notable features is the unique shape of the tubing combination which employs a trilobular shape instead of the round tubes generally used. This avant-garde design is continued in the stand’s slim one-hand clutch, which goes with most common microphone clamps and microphones for a harmonious overall look. The feel and ergonomics of the stand are one-of-a-kind worldwide. On the technical side, the stand offers the comfort of silent and easy height adjustment and an integrated knurled screw that won’t get lost. The base has also been completely redesigned. This model is a departure from the typical round cast iron base, featuring instead a round base of uniquely combined multiple components. Its core is made of steel and rounded out by an elegant plastic cover which offers more stability with less weight. The base also has a rubber sole that extends above the rim, protecting the floor and insulating the stand from impact noise. On stage the »Elegance«  offers musicians a highly individual product for a very personal performance.

He has also been responsible in the Development Department for designing a number of products in the Pro Audio segment in particular.
