König & Meyer receives “Sicher mit System” seal of approval

König & Meyer is hereby one of less than 100 companies throughout Germany and the first business in Main-Tauber-Kreis to receive this certification.

Companies that strive for outstanding health and safety practices are distinguished by this seal of approval. The internal organisation of the company must guarantee that the issues of health and safety are systematically integrated in all operational processes and taken into consideration at all times. Companies, which in this way fulfil their social responsibility, profit not only from the enhanced motivation and reduced downtime of staff, but also financially from lower accident costs. With fewer disturbances in the production process, product quality and efficiency can also be enhanced.

The "Sicher mit System" seal of approval can only be awarded when no reservations are raised by the department of labour protection and no fatal or severe accidents occurred in the company during the running calendar year or the previous year. This concerns accidents that are caused by technical or organisational neglect within the company's area of accountability.

Gabriela König, managing director of König & Meyer is proud of the receipt of the certificate. “With this we will achieve more legal certainty for the persons responsible, health and safety measures will continually improve, accidents will be avoided and compliance with the relevant regulations and laws will be ensured,” said the managing director at the handing over of the certificate “safety with system” by the BG representative Frank Golle.

It is not possible to rest on one’s laurels as the certification is only valid for 3 years. Thereafter a new assessment will take place. In between a team made up of four safety experts and nine safety auditors regularly monitors the work processes, carries out safety audits with the staff and reviews the operating instructions of König & Meyer. Training programmes, preventative check-ups with the company physician and seminars about prevention take place to actively involve the employees in health protection.

With the “Sicher mit System” seal of approval König & Meyer now belongs to the select groups of companies in Germany that is also certified in the field of environmental protection (ISO 14001), quality (ISO 9001) and work safety.
